Educational Background
Dr. Richard Léger completed his medical degree at the University of Sherbrooke and completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Montreal in conjunction with the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital and the Notre-Dame Hospital.

Refractive Experience
Dr. Léger has worked in several laser centers throughout Canada. His experience in refractive and cataract surgery includes working at Laser Visuel in Quebec, Laservue in Montreal and Lasik Vision at the Vancouver and Burnaby clinics in British Columbia. Dr. Léger was the Medical Director at the Windsor clinic in Ontario, one of the busiest clinics in Canada.

Dr. Léger has extensive experience in laser surgery including the use of the VISX, Bausch & Lomb, Autonomous, and Lasersight lasers as well as the ACS and Hansatome keratome. With his impressive and diverse experience, Dr. Léger is one of the most experienced surgeons in Canada. Dr. Léger has also performed thousands of Zyoptix wavefront procedures. John van der Zweep, MD, FRCSC

Educational Background
Dr. John van der Zweep completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Manitoba, graduating with honors. He completed his specialization in ophthalmology with the Ivey Eye Institute at the University of Western Ontario, where he served his final year as Chief Resident.

Refractive Experience
Following the completion of his ophthalmology residency, Dr. van der Zweep joined the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Manitoba where he practices comprehensive ophthalmology and performs cataract and refractive surgery. He is also active in outreach ophthalmology programs in Northwest Ontario.

Accomplishments and Awards
Dr. van der Zweep has presented at numerous ophthalmology conferences and is an active teacher to medical students at the University of Manitoba. He is on staff at Misericordia Hospital as well as at the new Pan Am Surgical Centre in Winnipeg.

Throughout his undergraduate, medical and ophthalmology residency training, Dr. van der Zweep has been the recipient of numerous academic awards, including The Duke of Edinburgh Award, The Inland Scholarship and Technical Communication and Design Engineering Awards. His efforts in medical education have been recognized on many occasions during his residency training.

Dr. van der Zweep is married and he is an avid hiker, mountain biker and windsurfer. Nature is one of his passions. He enjoys helping on the family farm and spending time enjoying cabin life in northwest Ontario.

Stephen Brodovsky, MD, FRCS(C), received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Manitoba. After three years of practicing emergency medicine at the Grace General Hospital in Winnipeg, Dr. Brodovsky decided to pursue specialty training in ophthalmology. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, where he served his final year as the Chief Resident. Dr. Brodovsky has also completed an advanced post-doctoral fellowship in cornea and external disease at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in conjunction with the Melbourne University in Melbourne, Australia.

Throughout his career, Dr. Brodovsky has performed more than 5,000 LASIK and PRK procedures. He currently maintains a private practice in Winnipeg and also serves as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Manitoba. Dr. Brodovsky is a published author whose articles have appeared in several renowned professional ophthalmology journals. He has also participated in various research projects and is a sought-after lecturer on various subjects of ophthalmology.
