Corneal Collagen Cross-Linking

Omar Hakim, MD, FRCSC
Dr. Hakim has been performing laser vision correction since 1994, and he is regarded as one of the leading international specialists in refractive surgery. During his career, he has served as principal clinical investigator for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in several wavefront-guided technology studies. He was also a consultant to the International Medical Advisory Board for Alcon Laboratories.

Dr. Hakim is currently on staff at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, the Milton District Hospital and the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, where he practices comprehensive ophthalmology. Dr. Hakim performed laser vision correction at TLC clinics in London, Waterloo and Toronto, where he was medical director. At the Herzig Eye Institute, he was chief of surgery for western Ontario.

David Johnson, MD, FRCSC, DABO
Dr. Johnson has more than 12 years of experience as a LASIK and cataract surgery specialist. He also has extensive experience performing intraocular surgery, including clear lens extraction for high myopia. Dr. Johnson performs over 700 cataract procedures each year, and has also conducted thousands of advanced custom wavefront procedures.

Dr. Johnson has extensive experience using the Bausch & Lomb Technolas 217 laser and Hansatome microkeratome. He has performed laser vision correction for several laser centers, and, up until recently, was the medical director for a large laser center in London, Ontario. Dr. Johnson has lectured and taught the LASIK procedure to other surgeons, and is certified in the use of several types of ophthalmic lasers.
