Peter J. Agapitos, MD, FRCS(C)
Performed more than 8,000 LASIK and 7,500 intraocular procedures
Educational Background
Dr. Agapitos completed his medical degree from the University of Ottawa. He then completed his internship at McGill University and specialized in ophthalmology at the University of Ottawa. He received further subspecialty training in cornea, anterior segment and refractive surgery during a two-year fellowship at the University of Minnesota, during which time he also served as an assistant professor of ophthalmology. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Ottawa and an active attending surgeon at Ottawa Hospital's Riverside Eye Care Centre.
Refractive Surgery Experience
Dr. Agapitos is a recognized expert in refractive surgery. He has broad experience with both surgical techniques (epikeratophakia, radial and astigmatic keratotomy, keratomileusis and clear lens extraction) and excimer laser procedures (PRK, LASIK and LASEK). He has been performing excimer laser vision correction since 1992 and was the first surgeon in Canada to treat a patient for hyperopia with the excimer laser. Dr. Agapitos has lectured in both Canada and the United States and has published many scientific articles in peer reviewed journals, as well as numerous book chapters.
Accomplishments and Awards
Dr. Agapitos is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Canada) and a Diplomate and Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. In 1999, he received the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Since 2002, he has been Chair of the Section on Ophthalmology of the Ontario Medical Association. He currently serves on the Independent Health Facilities Task force on Ophthalmology at the Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Robert B. Morgan, MD, FRCS(C)

Educational Background
Dr. Morgan earned his Doctor of Medicine degree and completed an ophthalmology specialty at the University of Ottawa.
Refractive Experience
Dr. Morgan became involved with laser vision correction in 1994 and was certified in LASIK in 1998. He received certification as a PRK specialist in 1996 and started performing PRK at the Focus Eye Center in Ottawa. Dr. Morgan has also performed thousands of Zyoptix wavefront procedures and has extensive experience with the VISX and Technolas laser systems.
Dr. Morgan practiced general ophthalmology in Northern Ontario for two years and returned to Ottawa in 1979, where he has been practicing ophthalmology for more than 26 years. He has previously been the chief of ophthalmology at the Montfort Hospital in Ottawa. He also provided ophthalmology services to Northern Ontario residents with the Underserviced Area Program for 20 years.

Ralph Zabel, MD
Performed more than 25,000 ocular procedures
Educational Background
Dr. Zabel earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Western Ontario. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Ottawa and two fellowships in cornea and refractive surgery at the Institute of Ophthalmology in London and at the University of Minnesota.
Refractive Experience
Dr. Zabel was the first Canadian surgeon to treat a patient with the excimer laser. He has extensive experience in laser surgery using the Summit, VISX, Meditec and Bausch & Lomb excimer lasers. He has performed thousands of Zyoptix wavefront procedures. Dr. Zabel has undergone Zyoptix Custom wavefront surgery himself and now has 20/15 vision in each eye without glasses or contacts.
Accomplishments and Awards
Dr. Zabel is a highly respected surgeon in North America. He has given many lectures on excimer laser technology and has published numerous articles on the subject in peer-reviewed journals.
