Dr. Yaron S. Rabinowitz
LASIK in Santa Clarita, Lancaster and the surrounding area
Yaron S. Rabinowitz, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist renowned for his ability to deliver exceptional vision correction results. As the lead eye surgeon of Laser Eye Associates, Dr. Rabinowitz has helped thousands of patients achieve clear vision through LASIK. Dr. Rabinowitz is recognized worldwide as a leading authority on refractive and cornea surgery, and he was instrumental in the development of advanced laser technologies for the treatment of myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism.
Due to his extensive expertise, Dr. Rabinowitz is frequently invited to serve as a clinical investigator for the FDA. He was involved in the evaluation of both the Alcon LADARwave and the popular VISX excimer laser platforms. Dr. Rabinowitz was also one of the first eye surgeons in the nation to perform the bladeless LASIK procedure with IntraLase and the novel "down-up" LASIK procedure.
Dr. Rabinowitz strongly believes that optimum LASIK results can be achieved only through the use of the best LASIK technologies. This is why his offices feature four separate laser platforms: the VISX excimer laser, the Alcon LADARvision excimer laser, the Allegretto wave laser and the IntraLase femtosecond laser. Dr. Rabinowitz performs thorough patient evaluations to determine which laser combination is the best for each patient.
In addition to being renowned as an exceptionally gifted LASIK Los Angeles surgeon, Dr. Rabinowitz is also an expert in corneal disease. He has made several breakthrough research findings regarding the genetic causes of various cornea diseases, such as keratoconus. Dr. Rabinowitz was one of the researchers who pioneered the Intacs procedure with IntraLase for the treatment of keratoconus. His contribution to the field of cornea surgery was recognized in 2005 by the French Eye Society, which invited Dr. Rabinowitz to give a keynote lecture on keratoconus. Dr. Rabinowitz is the only American eye surgeon who has received this honor.
What Do Patients Say About the Surgeons of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center?
"Highly recommend Cornea Eye Institute!! The staff is very friendly and professional. Never had to wait in the waiting area more than 5 minutes. And great results … one week after my LASIK surgery I had 20/15 vision in both eyes!!
Dr. Gaster was also a wonderful doctor, very patient and kind and very thorough about explaining the procedure before and during the surgery. So I knew what to expect throughout the surgery.
Also they have the latest technology. I opted for IntraLase, so a laser created the flaps instead of a blade. I just didn't like the idea of a blade cutting my corneas. It was a little extra money but when it comes to your eyes do you really want to go cheap?" —Josh P.
"I had PRK about 10 yrs ago. Dr. Rabinowitz was the best … had the best bedside manner. To this day I feel he was the best doctor I have ever been to. My eyes were 20/20 until a couple years ago when I got a detached retina in my right eye." —Stephanie P.
"My sister and I came here about seven years ago. My brother came here about four years ago. We all have great vision until this day. I just got my eyes checked by an optometrist and she said I still don't need glasses and my eyes are in good health.
Warning of my bad experience at Laser Eye Center: I went to the original Laser Eye Center about 12 years ago. Dr. Moosa and Dr. Garabet (Founder) tried to correct my vision THREE (yes, I said three) times! I still had to wear glasses afterwards! I did NOT get a refund.
After my sister had success with Dr. Rabinowitz, I came to him with what was left of my corneas. He fixed them and I NO LONGER wear glasses!" —Emmy M.
"Coming here was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Dr. Rabinowitz is very thorough and careful, and he did everything to make sure that my eyes were in prime condition to get LASIK treatment. I had to wait a few months for my dry eye condition to clear up, and while I was anxious to have the procedure done, it was extremely comforting knowing that Dr. Rabinowitz is a responsible doctor who will make decisions in your best interest. It's been about a month since LASIK, and I am thrilled with the results. My vision is now excellent, and I've had no complications whatsoever." —Emms S.
"If you're on this page, you're probably considering undergoing LASIK eye correction. By the time I started researching surgeons. I was completely set on following through with it — it was simply a matter of which of the many doctors in Los Angeles to choose. I've gone to five different clinics and this is why Dr. Rabinowitz proved to be my top choice:
I decided early on that I wasn't going to risk my vision by doing a "$499/eye" type of surgery. It's artificially cheap and is not worth it, in my opinion. From his credentials and reviews, it's clear Dr. Rabinowitz is not only a seasoned professional but a highly regarded and respected by his peers in innovation and performance.
I respect that Dr. Rabinowitz doesn't perform Botox or other cosmetic surgery in his office, as many others do. Not that I have anything against it, but I would like my eye surgeon to be a specialist in his field and not diversify out of greed.
Dr. Rabinowitz not only answered all of my relevant and irrelevant question, but also talked me through questions of concerns "I should have, but didn't ask." They have done multiple tests and refractions (measuring your vision) throughout the entire process to make sure I would get the most accurate results. They talked and walked me through every step of the experience. They were accommodating with dates and times for my visits and surgery. And above all, they created a fantastic, life-changing experience for me.
*I must make a separate mention about Ana, the surgery coordinator, who is an absolute gem and one of the highlights of the experience. Where Dr. Rabinowitz gets straight to the point about everything, Ana takes the time to make sure you are comfortable and feel secure and taken care of. Their personalities provide the perfect combination one would want for this kind of surgery!
Words cannot describe the sheer joy of being able to wake up and see EVERYTHING. And, I cannot thank and recommend Dr. Rabinowitz and his team enough! Go!" —Katerina P.
"I don't have to worry about contacts. I can wake up and enjoy life immediately now. I would recommend Dr. Rabinowitz to my friends and family. He answered all of my questions and made me feel comfortable."
"Dr. Rabinowitz is first class. I have seen for over 15 years and he is the BEST! I would not trust anyone else with my eyes for LASIK. I got LASIK in both eyes less than a week ago and 20/20, if not 20/15. Great experience from beginning to end. Ana, the Refractive Surgery Coordinator, was amazing as was the surgery staff during the procedure. I had questions pre-surgery and the staff and Dr. Rabinowitz addressed my questions in less than 24 hours. Five stars all the way! Thank you!!!"
"My husband had surgery and has been pleased with the results. This is the first time he has not had to wear glasses since he was a toddler. The office staff is awesome and Dr. Rabinowitz has a way of making his patients feel at ease. We recommend his services to everyone."
"I recently had LASIK with Dr. Rabinowitz. I saw five other doctors but chose him because of his background and his expertise. He has been a leader in the field for over 20 years. My prescription was a bit complicated and I was a bit cautious. I am happy I did my research. LASIK with Dr. Rabinowitz was the best decision I ever made. I now see better than I ever did with my glasses and would never have done this had it not been for the confidence he inspired. I recommend him every day to all my friends and feel truly blessed I was fortunate enough to choose him."
About LASIK Eye Surgery with Dr. Yaron Rabinowitz
Dr. Rabinowitz performs all surgical procedures at Laser Eye Associates at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Prior to recommending any treatment, he performs thorough patient evaluations to determine whether they are candidates for LASIK. The next step of the treatment process is the selection of the most appropriate laser instruments. Dr. Rabinowitz's surgical suite features an array of advanced laser platforms, including the VISX S4 excimer laser with CustomVue technology Alcon LADARvision excimer laser system with LADARwave wavefront technology, the Allegretto wave laser and the IntraLase femtosecond laser.
Dr. Rabinowitz uses the wavefront systems of the VISX S4 and Alcon LADARvision platforms to create extremely precise maps of his patients' corneas. These maps reflect event the most subtle optical errors caused by imperfections in the cornea. Dr. Rabinowitz uses the corneal maps to program the excimer laser components of the VISX S4 and Alcon LADARvision platforms. As a result, the lasers are able to correct the unique flaws of each individual cornea.
In order to further enhance the precision and safety of LASIK, Dr. Rabinowitz uses the IntraLase femtosecond laser. This is a sophisticated surgical instrument that creates a thin flap in the corneal surface. Compared to the flap created with a handheld mechanical blade, the flap created with the IntraLase laser is smoother and thinner. As a result, IntraLase bladeless LASIK patients typically experience faster recovery and improved vision correction results.
As a highly accomplished corneal surgeon, Dr. Rabinowitz also offers the "blended vision" surgery for patients suffering from presbyopia, as well as Intacs corneal implants for the correction of keratoconus and advanced myopia.
