More About Maple Eye and Laser Center
Maple Eye and Laser Center has been an established eye care facility for more than 50 years. It offers a variety of services and procedures to its patients, including refractive surgery and treatment for cataracts, glaucoma, vitreoretinal and corneal diseases.
Dr. Kornstein uses modern technology to provide safe treatment and positive vision correction results for his patients. He incorporates wavefront technology, the IntraLase laser and the VISX Star S4 excimer laser to perform refractive surgeries. Wavefront technology is an advanced method of measuring the eye’s refractive error; it allows Dr. Kornstein to customize the LASIK procedure to each patient’s unique vision correction needs. The IntraLase laser is a blade-free alternative used to create the corneal flap, while the VISX Star S4 excimer laser is utilized to ablate the underlying corneal tissue.
Dr. Kornstein was the first New York ophthalmologist to combine Intacs corneal implants with the IntraLase laser for a safer, more precise surgery to treat keratoconus. He also performs no-stitch cataract surgery and is certified to implant multifocal and toric intraocular lenses.
