Dr. Foley shares his LASIK expertise with future eye surgeons by serving as an Adjunct Instructor of Ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota and a Surgical Consultant and Instructor at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Laser Eye Surgery at Joffe MediCenter

Joffe MediCenter's mission is to provide excellent patient care and the highest quality LASIK treatments — a commitment that has remained unchanged since the center was founded. To realize its mission, the center is equipped with some of the newest diagnostic and surgical instruments.

Dr. Foley and his team begin each vision correction treatment by using the Orbscan and custom wavefront analyzers to create a detailed 3-D map of the cornea. This map is unique to each individual, and it shows even the minutest flaws in the cornea's shape. Dr. Foley uses this map to determine whether the patient is a LASIK candidate. If so, Dr. Foley further relies on the wavefront map to program the excimer laser so that it delivers an exact treatment customized for each individual cornea.

When performing LASIK surgery, Dr. Foley first creates a small flap in the cornea. He uses one of two instruments to accomplish this task — the Bausch & Lomb Zyoptix XP microkeratome (a mechanical blade) or the IntraLase laser. The purpose of the flap is to gain access to the stroma — the underlying corneal tissues. In addition, the corneal flap serves as a natural bandage after the LASIK surgery is completed.

Dr. Foley performs the most important step of LASIK — the reshaping of the cornea — by using the Alcon Allegretto Wave excimer laser or the Bausch & Lomb Technolas 217z Zyoptix system. Both of these laser platforms use a cool laser beam to adjust the corneal shape, and they both deliver excellent vision correction outcomes. When combined with the detailed corneal maps developed by the wavefront analyzers, the excimer lasers are able to correct a variety of refractive errors, including myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism.

At Joffe, it is our commitment to make LASIK affordable and accessible. With multiple financing plans to fit any budget, your per eye payments can be as low as approximately $1 per day!

What Do Patients Say About Dr. Foley and Joffe MediCenter?

"The no pressure sales approach and the flat rate pricing was what attracted me. I was offended by the "bait and switch" at another provider. The entire process was professional and pleasing. The staff was very good about letting me know what was about to occur and did a good job of explaining the after surgery care."
—Kirk T.

Dr. John Foley is associated with many professional associations.

"All the staff is as good as you get, all very nice and professional. I felt very relaxed and comfortable from the moment I walked in to the time I left after my LASIK procedure was done. My follow up visits were just as great. I wore contacts for many years and don't miss them one bit. Joffe is the best in the business, so if you're considering the LASIK eye procedure, Joffe's the one to see and the cost is the best part. I saved almost half of what my wife paid a year ago at another LASIK place. Thanks!"
—Dan B.

"I am extremely happy with the results of my LASIK treatment from Joffe. The staff is very friendly and available to answer any questions and address any concerns. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Thank you." —Jenn H.
