Scott L. Jaben, MD, is a highly experienced board-certified, fellowship trained ophthalmologist practicing with Charlotte Eye Ear Nose and Throat Associates in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dr. Jaben is certified and has access to both the VISX Star S4 and the Bausch and Lomb Technolas laser systems for LASIK surgery. As part of the CustomLASIK procedure, a highly accurate measurement of the corneal curvature is obtained and the excimer laser creates an individualized beam to correct each eye. To create the corneal flap, Dr. Jaben uses the "All LASER LASIK" or "Blade Free LASIK" procedure called IntraLASE. Each patient is meticulously evaluated before surgery using advanced corneal topographic analyzers, thus enhancing safety and visual results.
Dr. Jaben also offers CK (conductive keratoplasty) for the correction of farsightedness, NearVisionCK for the correction of presbyopia (the need for reading glasses), and the most advanced IOLs (intraocular lens implants), such as the Acrysof© ReSTOR Lens, for the simultaneous correction of near and distance vision. Jaben, MD, completed both his ophthalmology fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious and world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. He earned his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine and his undergraduate degree from Emory University in Atlanta. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active member of many of the major ophthalmology and medical organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
