More About Vision Correction at Horizon Eye Specialists & LASIK Center

Surgeons at Horizon Eye Specialists & LASIK Center use the latest technology in laser eye surgery. |
|
In order to provide the best possible laser vision correction results, Horizon Eye Specialists & LASIK Center features some of the latest laser vision correction equipment, including the sophisticated VISX STAR S4 excimer laser platform with CustomVue technology. Drs. McCulloch and Christian use this surgical equipment to perform all LASIK procedures, as well as PRK, LASEK and Epi-LASIK treatments. The latter procedures are sometimes recommended for patients who do not qualify for LASIK due to thin corneas, large pupils or other factors.
Drs. McCulloch and Christian begin each treatment by using their laser system's advanced WaveScan WaveFront technology, which allows them to create a 3-D map of the patient's eye detailing irregularities that often go undetected in traditional LASIK scans. After creating a tiny flap in the patient's cornea, they use the 3-D map to program the excimer laser, which gently reshapes the cornea so that it can refract light rays correctly. To further enhance patient safety and ensure precise laser application, the VISX STAR S4 platform also incorporates ActiveTrak 3-D Active Eye Tracking technology, which follows minuscule eye movements during surgery and adjusts the laser automatically.
At Horizon Eye Specialists & LASIK Center, patients can also receive a variety of other treatments, including cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment, Conductive Keratoplasty (CK) and corneal transplant surgery. The center's doctors perform all procedures with the utmost attention to detail, which leads to a more pleasant treatment experience and better vision correction results.
