The Grand Rapids Ophthalmology Difference
Grand Rapids Ophthalmology is the leader in laser vision correction.
We began performing refractive surgery in 1985, were first to perform
laser vision correction in West Michigan and first to offer Intralase, the blade-free LASIK procedure,
to our patients. Our LASIK patients are the only West Michigan patients to
receive their LASIK treatment in an AAAHC Certified Surgical Center,
which means a sterile and safe environment for your precious eyes.
 |
Grand Rapids Ophthalmology is recognized nationally in the Top 50,
and the surgeons have been awarded "Top 100 Laser Doctors" in the U.S. |
|
GRO has been nationally recognized as one of the Top 50 Laser Centers in the
United States by Laser Vision Centers Inc., and our doctors have been named among
The Top 100 Laser Doctors in the United States. We believe in constant and never-ending
improvement in the pursuit of providing our patients with a lifetime of truly outstanding eye care.
Your laser evaluation is performed by our expert laser team, including the doctor
who will perform your surgery. During your exam, you and your surgeon will discuss
and determine the procedure for your unique eyes. We limit the number of procedures
we perform per day so our surgeons and laser team are fresh and you are not part of
an assembly-line approach.
 |
GRO is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care Inc. |
|
Of course, we offer the absolute best in technology. GRO utilizes Intralase, the blade-free procedure that
is more precise, safer, and more predictable than the old technology of a blade (microkeratome)
that is used by many laser centers because of cost. Combined with the VISX Star S3 Laser, our
patients receive the #1 laser system in the United States.
There are no hidden costs or fees. The evaluation, procedure, and post-operative care for a year are all included.
If you currently see an optometrist, we are happy to co-manage care with your doctor.
Our focus is medicine and not the business of laser centers. We provide laser vision correction
every day of the week, and we do not overwork our staff or operate on high volumes.
We do not allow medical decisions to be influenced by cost. LASIK is a surgical procedure and not a "fast and easy fix."
In the event of a complication, our expert physicians are able to diagnose and treat any possible
situation in the correct manner. Our doctors are not available only on the day of your procedure
but are always available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 364 days a year.
Grand Rapids Ophthalmology has been West Michigan's leading eye care center since 1982,
providing leading-edge technology and care for you and your family. We will be here for the lifetime of your eye care.
