Grin and Florkowski perform LASIK surgery with the VISX STAR S4 excimer laser platform, one of the leading devices on the market. This device uses WaveFront technology to create a detailed map of the cornea that is 25 times more accurate than traditional methods. This information is inputted into the laser's computer to provide a customized vision correction. Dr. Grin has taken great pride in the development of his LASIK practice. More About the Doctors at Grin Eye Care
Milton Grin, MD, FACS, earned his combined Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Missouri's six year intensive program. He completed his medical internship at Kansas City's Saint Luke's Hospital and his ophthalmology training at the Eye Foundation of Kansas City, where he served as chief resident. Following his residency, Dr. Grin served as a faculty member at the Eye Foundation. A couple of his responsibilities included teaching eye surgery to residents and also to help prepare the residents for their Board studies. Over the course of his career Dr. Grin has been involved with Medical Missions and other service opportunities. He has donated his time and talents, providing surgical eye care to patients around the world and also teaching international doctors surgical advancements.
Dr. Grin has been a trusted refractive surgeon for 20 years. LASIK was developed about 12 years ago and quickly became a passion for Dr. Grin. As the years have gone by, Dr. Grin has always maintained the highest standard of care. He has consistently made it a priority to have state-of-the-art technologies. Most importantly, Dr. Grin sincerely takes pride in caring for his patient’s well-being. His years of experience and his patient’s happiness have proven that he is one of the leaders in the LASIK industry.
Barbara Wolock, MD, earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. She completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Virginia and an ophthalmology residency at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Wolock has donated her time by traveling to Vietnam with the Medical Missions organization to help patients with their eye-related problems. She is experienced in cataract surgery and the treatment of eye disorders such as glaucoma, retinal disease and diabetes-related conditions. She is also a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Kansas City Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology Society.
Aaron Florkowski, MD, earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City, where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Florkowski completed his internal medicine clerkship at Saint Luke's Hospital and Truman Medical Center and his surgical training at the Eye Foundation of Kansas City, where he focused on the treatment of ophthalmic diseases. He specializes in refractive surgery, plastic surgery of the eyelids and medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma, retinal disease, and diabetes-related conditions. He has worked with the Medical Mission Foundation and Surgical Eye Expeditions International, and has treated cataract patients in Romania.
Jennifer Johnson, OD, earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston. She is credentialed by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry for the management and treatment of ocular disease. She specializes in helping dry eye patients with their contact needs and has interests in primary eye care, treatment of eye disease and managing LASIK patients before and after surgery. She is a member of several prominent organizations, including the American Optometric Association, the Kansas Optometric Association and the Optometric Society of Greater Kansas City.
Lori McQuigg, OD, earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. Dr. McQuigg specializes in contact lenses, pre-op and post-op care of cataract and LASIK surgery patients and the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases. She has utilized her experience in the area of contact lens care and management to train ophthalmology residents and ophthalmic technician students through the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Dr. McQuigg is affiliated with the Kansas Optometric Association.
Christa Dawson, OD, earned her Doctor of Optometry degree, graduating cum laude, from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. Dr. Dawson specializes in contact lenses, pediatric optometry and the treatment of ocular disease. She is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and holds full licensure privileges in Kansas and Missouri.
