Joel H. Goldstein, MD

Joel Goldstein, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been in private practice in the Denver area since 1972. Dr. Goldstein is a skilled surgeon who has performed laser vision correction since it was approved by the FDA in 1995. He has now performed more than 1,500 LASIK procedures and has been recognized as one of Denver's "Outstanding LASIK Surgeons" by both 5280 Magazine and Channel 4. He has also been selected nine times by 5280 as "One of the Best Ophthalmologists" in Denver and has been acknowledged by the Guide to Top Doctors as one of "America's Top Doctors."

Refractive Surgery

For LASIK surgery, the newest wavefront guided laser vision correction technology is recommended for most patients. Wavefront guided technology provides a highly precise measurement of the corneal curvature. This "corneal map" is programmed into the laser so that a customized ablation profile is created for each eye to reshape the cornea in an individualized way.

Dr. Goldstein also offers CK Surgery (conductive keratoplasty) for the correction of presbyopia. Additionally, he provides a comprehensive eye care practice, including the newest technology in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma and routine eye examinations.

More About Dr. Goldstein

Dr. Goldstein obtained his undergraduate degree from Williams College in Massachusetts and his medical degree from the University of Colorado, School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Boston City Hospital in internal medicine. After a two-year tenure as a medical officer in the United States Air Force, he completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Colorado, School of Medicine. Dr. Goldstein is an Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and of the American College of Surgeons. He is also an active member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
