More About LASIK Surgery at the 20⁄20 Institute

For LASIK surgery, 20⁄20 Institute uses the VISX Star S4-IR Custom Wavefront-Guided laser system. The curvature of the eye is unique for each individual, similar to a fingerprint for the eye. The VISX system provides a highly accurate measure of the eye "fingerprint" and creates an individualized laser profile to correct vision for each eye. The 20⁄20 Institute also employs the Pentacam system, which provides a 3-Dimensional profile of the eye, increasing the accuracy and safety of the vision correction procedure. To create the corneal flap, 20⁄20 Institute now offers the "All Laser LASIK" technique. This advanced technology uses a laser, instead of a blade (mechanical microkeratome), to perform the first step in the LASIK procedure, ensuring the utmost in precision, safety and accuracy for each patient.
