Daniel Goldberg, MD, FACS, is a board-certified ophthalmologist with more than 25 years' experience helping patients reduce or eliminate their dependency on glasses and contact lenses. Dr. Goldberg is a refractive surgery pioneer, having participated in the FDA's original clinical trials to facilitate the approval of the LASIK procedure. In recognition of his skill and expertise Dr. Goldberg was named one of the "Best Doctors in America" by his peers and one of the best doctors in New Jersey by the New Jersey Monthly and NY Metro magazines.

Dr. Goldberg has performed more than 10,000 LASIK procedures for patients throughout the world, including local patients in Monmouth and Ocean counties. The Atlantic Laser Center is a state-of-the-art facility specifically designed to maximize patient safety and comfort. It houses the latest LASIK technology to provide better vision results. Dr. Goldberg uses the VISX STAR S4 excimer laser platform when performing LASIK. This platform incorporates WaveScan WaveFront technology to create a detailed map of the eye that is 25 times more accurate than traditional methods. After creating the corneal flap with the IntraLase laser for a blade-free experience, Dr. Goldberg smoothes the cornea with the STAR S4 excimer laser to provide sharper, clearer vision.

Dr. Goldberg also offers a variety of other vision correction procedures, including LASEK, PRK, CK and intraocular lens procedures. He also has experience treating patients who suffer from eye diseases such as glaucoma and keratoconus.

Dr. Goldberg is one of the few eye surgeons in the country to possess certification from both the Council for Refractive Surgery Quality Assurance and the American College of Eye Surgeons. In the past, he has served as president of the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology and as a councilor to the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
