He also has a special interest in surgery to correct presbyopia, specifically treatment to simultaneously correct near and distance vision. He was the first surgeon in Southern California to perform Crystalens Visual Restoration surgery after the lens was approved by the FDA and he has performed the most Crystalens procedures in California.
Dr. Feinerman personally performs a detailed refractive examination to determine whether each patient is a good candidate for surgery. His focus on personal patient care ensures optimal results after surgery.
More About Crystalens Visual Restoration Surgery
If you were previously not a LASIK candidate, Ziemer Ophthalmic Systems FEMTO LDV® might change the situation. This new technology may allow patients who were denied LASIK, due to cornea thinness and other conditions, to now qualify as a candidate for the surgery. Please call us directly for a second opinion.
Ziemer Ophthalmic Systems received FDA clearance in 2007 for its FEMTO LDV® (Da Vinci Femtosecond Laser), an improved method of ALL-LASER LASIK. This technological advancement provides patients increased safety than the older Intralase® system.

The FEMTO LDV® femtosecond laser uses more precisely focused laser pulses at thousands of times less energy per pulse than Intralase®, which makes it even safer. Feinerman Vision Center is the first LASIK vision correction facility in the western United States to offer this advanced technology.
The FEMTO LDV® creates a LASIK flap with more accuracy than any laser in its class. After the femtosecond laser creates the corneal flap, the excimer laser is used to correct vision. The FEMTO LDV® femtosecond laser is completely bladeless and uses extremely low density rapid laser pulses to create the corneal flap (essential to the LASIK procedure). The low-density approach of FEMTO LDV® technology is a main factor in improved overall safety. This gives Dr. Feinerman's patients faster healing time and faster visual recovery than any other technology in the world.
Custom LASIK technology uses a wavefront-guided system to accurately measure the cornea and then correct your eye with an individualized custom laser profile.
Dr. Feinerman has his own on-site laser center located in his Newport Beach office. Another unique fact about Dr. Feinerman is that he is not limited to one laser technology. Dr. Feinerman uses B&L Technolas Zyoptix®, VISX and Nidek lasers based upon which laser would be the best option for each individual patient.
More About Crystalens Visual Restoration Surgery
See Young... Be Young™...
Crystalens surgery represents a break-through for the correction of presbyopia. This lens is the first of its kind to be flexible so that it can adjust focus for near vision, just like you enjoyed during your youth. Patients receiving Crystalens are able to go to a restaurant and see their friends across the room better. They also can generally read the menu without dependence on glasses or contacts.
FDA clinical trials showed that 98% of patients who received Crystalens implant surgery in both eyes could read the newspaper without glasses. These patients also had excellent distance vision. Crystalens surgery is similar to cataract surgery where the natural lens is removed and the Crystalens implant is inserted. In Dr Feinerman's skilled hands, this generally painless surgery requires no injections or stitches.
