Safer, More Precise LASIK with OptiLASIK and IntraLase

As leaders in the field of laser vision correction, Drs. Clinch and Kang recognize that the best results are achieved through the use of state-of-the-art technologies. Their offices feature several of the latest diagnostic and treatment devices, including the Allegretto Wave Eye-Q excimer laser, the OptiLASIK corneal mapping device, and the IntraLase femtosecond laser for the creation of the corneal flap during LASIK.

The IntraLase laser greatly enhances the safety and precision of LASIK surgery. It works by creating tiny bubbles under the outer layer of the eye's cells. These cells then coalesce and create a flap. The IntraLase method is more precise than cutting the flap with a microkeratome, the mechanical handheld instrument used in conventional LASIK. The flap is more uniform and even, which can lead to better vision in patients who opt for IntraLase as opposed to those who opt for the microkeratome.
