More About Dr. Matzkin

Dennis Matzkin, MD, is a native of South Africa. He earned his medical degree at the University of Witwatersrand Medical School. He entered residency in ophthalmology at the University of Cape Town, Groote Schuur Hospital and earned the Fellowship in Ophthalmology by the college of medicine in South Africa. He spent a year studying refractive surgery and then began performing Radial Keratotomy under the training of the internationally renowned corneal surgeon, John Hill, MD, FRCS. Dr. Matzkin then immigrated to the United States where he completed a three-year ophthalmology residency and an eighteen-month fellowship training program in cornea and refractive surgery at the prestigious Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He has been in private practice in the Atlanta area since 1995.

Dr. Matzkin is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active member of the major medical and ophthalmology associations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, American Medical Association, and the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology.
