More About Emory Vision

Every patient at Emory Vision is meticulously evaluated and treated by the surgeons and staff members to ensure the best possible LASIK outcome. Custom LASIK surgery is performed using the Allegretto Wave from Wavelight. The Allegretto Wave represents a breakthrough in customized LASIK technology. This laser is the first to be "wavefront optimized." The laser beam profile and eye tracking system are specifically designed for keeping the cornea in its most natural shape, thereby correcting visual error and reducing common night vision problems of glare and halos. In addition to LASIK, Emory Vision also offers PRK and LASEK for laser vision correction.

The surgeons of Emory Vision are also highly skilled implant surgeons, using the best surgical techniques. The newest technology implants (IOLs) are available, including the Phakic IOLs for those highly myopic patients who do not qualify for LASIK, and the multifocal IOLs for those patients who would like simultaneous correction for both reading and distance vision. Although the surgeons of Emory Vision are on the cutting edge of technology for vision correction, they are conservative in their approach to surgery. Only those patients who are expected to have high quality results are advised to have surgery.
