Richard Eisner, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who is the only LASIK surgeon in central Georgia who focuses exclusively on vision correction surgery. Each patient at the Eisner Laser Center is meticulously examined and treated to ensure the best LASIK outcomes. Dr. Eisner uses the VISX Star S4 wavefront-guided excimer laser system to perform Custom LASIK. Wavefront technology allows each patient's prescription to be individually mapped, then corrected with a customized laser treatment. To make the "corneal flap," IntraLASE technology is utilized. This all-laser flap creation system provides a safer, more predictable outcome than other older flap-creation methods. The combination of the most advanced LASIK technology and Dr. Eisner's extensive experience provide for optimal vision after surgery.

More About Dr. Eisner

Dr. Richard Eisner received his undergraduate degree in electrical and biomedical engineering from the University of Texas, Austin, and his graduate education in biomedical engineering at Washington University, St Louis, MO. Dr. Eisner's background in engineering served as a stimulus to his interest in ophthalmology, particularly new laser technology for eye surgery. He completed his medical degree at Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX, and his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock, AR. He began his private practice in 1984 and at that time performed all aspects of general eye care, including cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment, and pediatric eye care. He began his focus on refractive surgery in 1991 and has performed laser vision correction surgery since the procedure was approved by the FDA in 1996. He is an active member of the major ophthalmology organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
