More About Vision Correction at Ebsaar Eye Surgery Center
At Ebsaar Eye Surgery Center, the laser eye surgeons employ advanced and precise laser technology for personally tailored vision correction treatment. The modern practice is fully equipped with the OptiLASIK™, Allegretto Eye Q and Zeimer femtosecond lasers to deliver customized vision correction results to patients.
Before beginning LASIK surgery, the laser eye surgeons utilize wavefront computer-guided technology to map each eye's imperfections, including extremely subtle vision abnormalities known as "higher order aberrations." They use this diagnostic data to adjust the excimer laser that will be used during LASIK surgery to reshape the patient's cornea.
The eye surgeons at Ebsaar Eye Surgery Center start the LASIK procedure by creating a minute flap in the cornea. They next carefully pull back the corneal flap to reveal the corneal tissue underneath. Using the excimer laser, the ophthalmologists re-contour the cornea, correcting the refractive error causing myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and/or astigmatism. Once the eye surgeons are satisfied with the newly contoured cornea, they gently replace the corneal flap in its original position, where it naturally re-bonds to the eye without the need for stitches.
Patients at Ebsaar Eye Surgery Center typically remark that LASIK surgery was painless and that they notice an improvement in their vision within 24 to 48 hours following the procedure. Often, these patients no longer need to depend on prescription glasses or contact lenses to see clearly, and many achieve 20/20 vision or better after LASIK surgery.
