More About Laser Eye Center of Carolina
Dr. Dean Dornic has invested in technology that not all vision correction surgeons use, but he knows that the results are well worth it.
Dr. Dornic is the Founder, Medical Director, and Chief Surgeon of Laser Eye Center of Carolina. He and the staff use only the best technology to evaluate and treat each patient. For LASIK surgery, he uses the VISX Star4 excimer laser system with Iris Registration. This wavefront-guided custom laser system provides a highly accurate measure of the corneal curvature and then creates a customized laser beam profile to correct each eye. To create the corneal flap, Dr. Dornic uses the computerized Amadeus Microkeratome or a "Blade Free LASIK" technique known as IntraLase.
In addition to LASIK surgery, Dr. Dornic offers LASEK and PRK surgery for laser vision correction. He also performs LTK and CK surgery for the correction of presbyopia and the intraocular implant surgery (IOL) for those patients who do not qualify for laser eye surgery. These high-technology implants include the ReSTOR lens, for the simultaneous correction of reading and distance vision, and the Verisyse Lens, for those highly myopic patients who do not qualify for LASIK, and Intacs for those who want to correct mild myopia (nearsightedness) without laser surgery.
