More About Vision Correction at Delray Eye Associates

Dr. Rosenfeld uses advanced diagnostic and topography equipment to perform iLASIK.

Dr. Rosenfeld performs iLASIK, a highly sophisticated vision correction procedure that combines the advanced IntraLase femtosecond laser with the leading-edge VISX Star4 excimer laser for "bladeless" laser eye surgery. iLASIK is one of the latest techniques in vision correction and the only method that the United States Navy has approved for their fighter pilots.

To perform iLASIK, Dr. Rosenfeld first uses advanced diagnostic and topography equipment to create a unique map of the patient's eye, which allows him to identify vision flaws. Next, using the femtosecond laser, he creates the corneal flap, which is then lifted to expose the underlying tissue. Dr. Rosenfeld then uses the excimer laser to correct the patient's vision. Finally, the corneal flap is returned to its original position where it acts as a natural bandage for the eye. Patients who undergo laser vision correction under the skilled hands of Dr. Rosenfeld often achieve near-perfect vision without the need for glasses or contact lenses. For patients who may not qualify for LASIK eye surgery, Dr. Rosenfeld offers alternative treatment options, including PRK and RLE (refractive lens exchange).
