S. Gregory Smith, MD, received his Bachelor of Arts and Economics with distinction from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and his Doctorate of Medicine from Wayne State University School of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Smith participated as a flexible intern at the Sacred Heart Medical Center before completing his ophthalmology residency at the University of Minnesota. Although his formal education has long since culminated, Dr. Smith remains dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the field of vision correction through continued research of visual health. Dr. Smith's achievements have been awarded by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Castroviejo Cornea Society and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He holds a number of patents, including one on an implant designed for the treatment of Glaucoma.
