More About Vision Correction at Sloane Vision Center
At Sloane Vision Center, Oak Brook and Chicago patients can receive a variety of laser eye care treatments, including traditional LASIK, wavefront-assisted custom LASIK and Epi-LASIK. Dr. Sloane uses advanced IntraLase technology for all-laser vision correction procedures. During the IntraLase procedure, a special laser is used to create a flap in the cornea. (If a laser is not used, then the LASIK flap must be created with a blade.) This method allows Dr. Sloane to customize the flap to the patient’s eye, which improves safety and enhances surgical outcomes. Following the creation of the corneal flap, Dr. Sloane uses the Allegretto Wave excimer laser to gently correct imperfections in the patient’s cornea so that it can properly refract light rays. For those patients whose corneas are too thin for LASIK treatment, Dr. Sloane performs the Epi-LASIK procedure In addition to LASIK treatments, Dr. Sloane is also highly experienced in performing conductive keratoplasty (CK), Crystalens presbyopia vision correction surgery, the Visian implantable Collamer lens procedure and ReZoom multifocal intraocular lens surgery.
The Sloane Vision Center was designed with patient comfort and safety in mind. The surgical suites and exam rooms feature sophisticated control systems to maintain precise temperature and humidity levels, which is important for the proper functioning of the laser equipment. Dr. Sloane is especially proud of his team of dedicated, accomplished professionals, who are skilled in assisting patients with all their needs. Dr. Sloane believes that this combination of advanced technology and expert medical personnel is the key to consistently providing LASIK results that surpass his patients’ expectations.
