Mitchell A. Jackson, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in refractive surgery using LASIK, LASEK, PRK, PTK and refractive lens exchange. He has performed LASIK surgery since this procedure was first approved by the FDA in 1995. Dr. Jackson, who personally underwent LASIK surgery in May 2000, is well known for his expertise and leadership in the field of laser vision correction. He speaks widely at medical meetings about new treatment technologies and serves as an investigator in the FDA clinical trials for the development of new refractive procedures.

Dr. Jackson was named "Top Doctor" of the Chicago Metro Area in 2002-2005 as selected by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. He currently serves on the faculty of the University of Chicago Hospitals.

About Jacksoneye

Dr. Jackson is the medical director for Jacksoneye's two locations. His LASIK North Chicago center includes the Crossings Plaza on Milwaukee Avenue in Lake Villa and in Wisconsin he performs surgery at Lasik Plus in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Both centers include laser surgical suites with the newest in customized LASIK technology. These facilities employ the most advanced wavefront measurement techniques to customize the corneal correction and maximize precision on each patient.

Dr. Jackson also offers correction for keratoconus with Intacs (removable corneal inserts), Staar ICL and the PresView correction of presbyopia. In fact, Dr. Jackson was selected as one of the few investigators for the FDA clinical trials on PresView.

Dr. Jackson received his medical degree from Chicago Medical School. He served his internship at Columbus Hospital and his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Chicago Hospitals.

He is a member of many professional medical organizations, including American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Illinois Association of Ophthalmology. He also serves on the editorial board of two leading ophthalmology publications: Ophthalmology Management and Cataract and Refractive Surgery Today.
