About Dr. Mitchell A. Jackson
Mitchell A. Jackson, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in refractive surgery procedures, including LASIK, LASEK, PRK, PTK and refractive lens exchange. He has performed LASIK surgery on many Chicago-area patients since this procedure was first approved by the FDA in 1995. Dr Jackson, who personally underwent LASIK surgery in May 2000, is well known for his expertise and leadership in the field of laser vision correction. He speaks widely at medical meetings about new LASIK technologies and serves as an investigator in the FDA clinical trials for the development of new refractive procedures.
Dr. Jackson was named "Top Doctor" of the Chicago Metro Area in 2002 as selected by Castle Connolly Medical LTD. He currently serves on the faculty of the University of Chicago Hospitals.

Dr Jackson received his medical degree from Chicago Medical School. He served his internship at Columbus Hospital and his ophthalmology residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals. He is a member of many professional medical organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the International Council of Ophthalmology, the Illinois Association of Ophthalmology and the Chicago Ophthalmological Society. He also serves on the editorial boards of two leading ophthalmology publications, Ophthalmology Management and Cataract and Refractive Surgery Today.
