Dr. Wu and Dr. Goldstein named among the Best Doctors in America: February 2006 "Top Doctor" issue of Boston Magazine.

Drs. Helen K. Wu and Michael H. Goldstein are board-certified ophthalmologists who specialize in refractive surgery. These gifted surgeons have performed laser vision correction on thousands of patients
to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. They are
considered experts in refractive surgery and carry on
the rich tradition of Tufts University and the New England Eye Center
as leaders in LASIK technology.
Excimer-laser-based refractive surgery
was first performed at the New England Eye Center in 1991 as part of the
initial FDA clinical trials on PRK. These trials ultimately led to the
approval of the excimer laser for vision correction in 1995. The New England
Eye Center was one of the first centers in the Boston area to offer LASIK
after its approval. Drs. Wu and Goldstein have trained numerous other ophthalmic
surgeons on new advances in laser vision correction and are coveted speakers.
The focus of the New England Eye Center is to do everything in our power
to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
New England Eye Center
The New England Eye Center is chosen by LASIK patients for three reasons:
our surgeons' experience, commitment to quality care, and patient satisfaction.
The surgeons and staff of the New England Eye Center evaluate each patient
meticulously and determine the best individual treatment. For LASIK, the
LADARVision custom wavefront system is used. This state-of-the-art technology
provides a measurement of the corneal curvature of each patient in minute detail
and then programs this "corneal map" into the excimer laser. The laser then
precisely reshapes the cornea to the highest precision, thus ensuring the best
possible visual outcome.

In addition to LASIK, the New England Eye Center also
offers PRK, LASEK, and Epi-LASIK for laser vision correction. CK (conductive
keratoplasty for the correction of presbyopia), Crystalens (a new IOL that
corrects both near and distance vision) and INTACS (removable corneal inserts
for the correction of myopia and keratoconus) are also offered at our center.
