More About the Surgeons at Bond Eye Associates

William Bond, MD, FACS, is a board-certified ophthalmologist and specialist in cataract, refractive and laser eye surgery. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in 1973, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He later earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Illinois, Peoria School of Medicine and completed advanced eye surgery training at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. Dr. Bond currently serves as Medical Director of Bond Eye Associates and the Illinois Valley Eye Laser Institute. He is a member of the faculty at the Peoria School of Medicine, where he regularly lectures on refractive surgery and advanced cataract surgical techniques. Additionally, Dr. Bond serves on the editorial board of multiple professional journals, including EyeWorld, Cataract & Refractive Surgery Today and Review of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Bond is affiliated with a number of professional medical societies, including: Phi Beta Kappa, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, the Illinois State Medical Society, the Tazewell County Medical Society, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the International Society of Refractive Surgeons.

Jay R. Mehta, MD, completed an undergraduate degree with honors, as well as a medical degree, at Boston University. He later performed an internship at the Swedish Covenant Hospital; an ophthalmology residency at the State University of New York; and a fellowship in corneal transplantation, external eye diseases and refractive surgery at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Mehta is involved in several volunteer programs that promote community education and support public screening programs in New York and Massachusetts.

Saba Quraishi, MD, earned her undergraduate degree at Loyola University in Chicago and her medical degree at Northwestern University. She continued her education at the Henry Ford Health Systems in Detroit, where she completed an ophthalmology residency with a special focus on anterior segment surgery, blepharoplasty, laser vision correction and glaucoma treatment. Dr. Quraishi is a member of several prestigious medical associations, including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Women in Ophthalmology.
