Kent G. Leavitt, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in refractive surgery.
He has helped thousands of patients decrease their dependency on glasses or contact lenses. He is widely recognized
as a leading eye surgeon in the Pacific Northwest and receives praise for his expertise and excellent patient care.
As a pioneer in his field, Dr. Leavitt was the first ophthalmologist in the region to perform IntraLase bladeless and custom wavefront-guided laser vision correction surgery.
Dr. Leavitt's extensive training and dedication to using only the best technology guarantee that each patient achieves optimal results.
"Our primary goal at Bellevue LASIK is to provide the safest possible laser vision correction," says Dr. Leavitt.
"With that as our guiding principle, we investigate FDA-approved vision correction technology and adopt the best of that proven
technology for our patients. Cost is a secondary consideration. We believe your eyes are important and deserve the very best
without compromise!"
"In June of 2003 we began offering IntraLase, combined with custom wavefront-guided LASIK," Dr. Leavitt adds.
"It was years later that others in the area began to realize the superiority of that combination.
Recently (November 2006) the military finally allowed the first fighter pilots to have LASIK.
However, the only LASIK they could have was IntraLase and custom wavefront-guided LASIK!"
At Bellevue LASIK, Dr. Leavitt is involved in all pre- and post-operative care for each patient.
He personally follows each patient's progress from the first consultation through the completion
of the postoperative visits, ensuring superior eye health care.
Bellevue LASIK is committed to providing the safest and most accurate laser vision correction available.

Dr Leavitt's LASIK practice is state-of-the-art. |
|
Bellevue LASIK is an innovative eye-care clinic offering state-of-the-art, FDA-approved laser vision correction technology.
Dr. Leavitt uses Orbscan and Pentacam digital corneal topography technology to take the most precise measurements
possible of the corneal curvature. For LASIK surgery, Dr. Leavitt uses the IntraLase FS, VISX Star S4 IR and Alcon LadarVision lasers. The IntraLase FS laser creates a customized corneal flap, eliminating the risks associated with mechanical bladed microkeratomes. IntraLase also contributes to more 20/20 outcomes and fewer enhancements and dry eye problems. The VISX Star S4 IR excimer laser corrects vision while removing the smallest amount of corneal tissue of any laser available, allowing for shorter treatment times. The IR in "VISX Star S4 IR" stands for iris registration. This laser uses iris recognition
technology to precisely align the treatment on the eye. The Alcon LadarVision laser is currently the only other laser to
use registration technology. These lasers offer greater flexibility to individualize the laser treatment, from flap creation
to reshaping the cornea, resulting in consistently accurate results.
At Bellevue LASIK, Dr. Leavitt provides individual attention to each patient's LASIK surgery treatment program by personally following your progress from the initial LASIK consultation through the completion of your postoperative care. Many LASIK centers rely on outside doctors to do screenings and surgery follow up visits. At Bellevue LASIK, all care will be completed by Dr. Leavitt and his staff in the same convenient Eastside office where your LASIK eye surgery is performed.
Dr. Leavitt is also an expert implant surgeon. He performs high-technology cataract surgery that can restore full-range
vision for distance and reading using the Crystalens™, ReZoom™, and ReStor™ intraocular lenses.
He also offers refractive lens exchange and phakic intraocular lens for highly myopic or hyperopic patients
who may not be good candidates for LASIK.
