with Dr. Donaldson and her friendly, professional staff. | |
The Bascom Palmer Eye Institute Laser Vision Center in
Plantation/Fort Lauderdale provides state-of-the-art technology
with a highly attentive staff. Each patient is meticulously
examined prior to surgery to determine the best option for vision
correction.
For LASIK surgery, the VISX STAR S4 excimer laser system
is used. This wavefront-guided system provides for the measurement
of the most subtle aspects of the corneal curvature. This "corneal
map" is programmed into the excimer laser so that each patient is
treated with a customized laser profile. The combination of custom
wavefront LASIK with Dr. Donaldson's background and experience
provides for the highest precision and safety. In addition to LASIK, Bascom Palmer offers PRK, LASEK, Intacs, CK, and implantable lenses
that can correct for near and distance vision.
Although Dr. Donaldson
is on the cutting edge of new technology, she is conservative in her
approach to laser vision correction. After a comprehensive evaluation
by the surgeon, up to one-third of the patients are advised not to
have surgery. This focus on patient care ensures the best possible
LASIK outcomes.
