M. Farooq Ashraf, MD, FACS, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in laser vision correction surgery. More About Dr. Ashraf

Dr. M. Farooq Ashraf is the medical director and chief surgeon at The Atlanta Vision Institute. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio. After medical school, he was selected to complete a one-year fellowship research program at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. He performed his residency in ophthalmology at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and completed a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the world-renowned Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. After fellowship training, Dr. Ashraf was asked to join the faculty of Johns Hopkins to aid in teaching ophthalmology residents on the newest advances in refractive surgery. He is well known for his success in refractive surgery and he is an active member of the major medical and ophthalmology organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
