M. Farooq Ashraf, MD, FACS, serves as medical director of and chief surgeon at the Atlanta Vision Clinic. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at the Medical College of Ohio. Dr. Ashraf was then selected to fulfill a one-year research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed his ophthalmology residency at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and an advanced training fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute.
Following his fellowship training, Dr. Ashraf was invited to join the faculty of Johns Hopkins to assist in instructing ophthalmology residents about the latest advances in refractive surgery.
