Northern California Laser Center Laser Eye Surgery and More
Dr. Ash offers a variety of leading-edge vision correction procedures. When performing LASIK he uses the state-of-the-art wavefront-guided VISX CustomVue laser system. This amazing system provides an extremely precise measurement of the cornea's curvature and then produces a customized map that is used to program the laser. A separate laser called IntraLase is used to create the corneal flap, an approach known as bladeless LASIK, or all-laser LASIK. Bladeless LASIK has greatly enhanced the safety of the LASIK procedure. A study of Top Gun pilots who had undergone LASIK showed that IntraLase produces markedly superior results when compared to the results of LASIK procedures performed with a microkeratome. At Northern California Laser Center, Dr. Ash performs the exact same LASIK procedure.

Dr. Ashrafzadeh uses the IntraLase in LASIK vision correction.
IntraLase has advanced the accuracy of laser vision correction surgery by leaps and bounds. Simply put, the flap created by IntraLase is more consistent and produces better surgical results. The precision of the flap's edge enhances the results further. While the microkeratome blade traditionally used in LASIK can create wrinkles that affect quality of vision following LASIK, this is not a problem with IntraLase, which in contrast makes a smooth, 70-degree edge. After surgery, the flap is placed in its original position. IntraLase all but eliminates cell and wrinkle growth under the flap, vastly increasing the odds of a positive postoperative result.
Dr. Ash also offers cataract surgery. During this procedure, Dr. Ash removes the eye's natural lens and replaces it with a premium intraocular lens (IOL). In addition, Dr. Ash performs refractive lens exchange. His skill and extensive knowledge have helped countless patients achieve clear vision and rid themselves of glasses and contact lenses.
Patients are often referred to Dr. Ash from optometrists and other doctors for consultations related to eye disease; treatment of injuries, infections or inflammation of the eyes; removal of foreign ; and evaluation and management of glaucoma.
In the initial patient consultation the staff and doctors will answer any and all questions you have regarding billing issues, surgical procedures, and of course your eye condition.
