Vision Correction at Angeles Health International Tijuana Vision Center
At the Angeles Health International Tijuana Vision Center, Dr. Carpio and Dr. Vergara combine experience, sophisticated technology and thoughtful patient care to provide each patient with personalized laser vision correction. The Vision Center is furnished with wavefront excimer laser technology, so the laser eye surgeons can deliver safe, effective vision correction results to LASIK Tijuana patients.
Prior to beginning the LASIK procedure, Dr. Carpio and Dr. Vergara employ wavefront mapping technology to produce a "3D" image of each individual's eye irregularities. This allows the eye surgeons to diagnose "higher order aberrations," which are subtle abnormalities that only wavefront technology can detect. Dr. Carpio and Dr. Vergara use the map generated with this technology to calibrate the excimer laser that will be utilized during LASIK to correct the curvature of the patient's cornea.
To begin the LASIK procedure, Dr. Carpio or Dr. Vergara applies anesthetic drops to the eye. This way, the patient does not feel any pain or discomfort during LASIK surgery. Next, the laser eye surgeon uses a femtosecond laser to make a small flap in the patient's cornea. He then carefully lifts the corneal flap to uncover the tissue beneath, and uses the excimer laser to change the curvature of the cornea, correcting the individual's vision in the process. As soon as the eye surgeon is satisfied with the corrected cornea, he gently replaces the flap back in its original place, where it will naturally re-bond to the eye without the need for sutures.
Typically, individuals seeking LASIK in Tijuana discover that the procedure is not painful. They usually notice an improvement in their sight within one or two days after the LASIK procedure. Also, most patients can forego the use of prescription glasses or contact lenses following LASIK surgery. In fact, many individuals have 20/20 vision following LASIK.
