Linda Vu, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and refractive surgery. Dr. Vu has served the San Gabriel Valley area for more than a decade and has performed more than 13,000 eye procedures. Dr. Vu is proud to offer advanced cataract surgery with premium intraocular lens implants (IOLs). During the procedure, Dr. Vu creates a small incision in the eye, through which she extracts the clouded lens (cataract). Then, she replaces the cataract with a premium FDA-approved IOL. Depending on the patient's individual needs, Dr. Vu may use the accommodating Crystalens or multifocal (AcrySof ReSTOR, ReZoom or Tecnis) lenses. All of these premium lenses treat nearsightedness and age-related farsightedness (presbyopia.) To correct vision, the Crystalens IOL improves the eye's ability to change focus from near to distant objects, while the multifocal IOLs use varying optical zones within the lens (similar to a bifocal contact lens).

In addition to cataract surgery, Dr. Vu is one of the few ophthalmologists in the area to offer surgical treatment for pterygium – a type of corneal lesion that can distort vision. Dr. Vu also performs LASIK surgery, Epi-LASIK, refractive lens exchange, corneal refractive eye therapy, conductive keratoplasty and blepharoplasty – a cosmetic surgery procedure that treats sagging skin around the eyelid area.
