Dr. Sloane and the surgical team at Sloane Vision Center provide compassionate, customized care to their cataract surgery patients. The procedure is performed by carefully extracting the clouded lens and replacing it with a clear intraocular lens (IOL). To correct for presbyopia, nearsightedness and farsightedness, Dr. Sloane uses accommodating Crystalens IOLs, or the advanced multifocal AcrySof ReSTOR IOL. The Crystalens IOL naturally flexes with the eye muscle to help improve accommodation, or the ability to change focus between close and distant objects. AcrySof ReSTOR or ReZoom IOLs correct near and distance vision problems simultaneously. Because of these advanced IOLs, many patients experience better vision than ever before.

More About Herman Sloane, MD, FACS, FACES

Herman Sloane, MD, FACS, FACES, completed a medical degree at Rush Medical College in Chicago. After a medical internship at Evanston Hospital, Dr. Sloane performed a residency at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary and a refractive surgery fellowship with Dr. Charles Casebeer. He has served as an investigator in a FDA clinical trial for the Technolas excimer laser. Dr. Sloane is member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the International Society of Refractive Surgery.
