Lance Kugler, MD, William Schlichtemeier, MD, and Linda Morgan, OD, FAAO, are leading eye care providers in Lincoln / Omaha. Collectively, they have over 30 years of experience in vision correction treatments, including cataract surgery in Lincoln and cataract clinical care. Dr. Kugler is an Omaha native and a successful refractive surgeon. He completed fellowship training under world-renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Ming Wang. During his fellowship alone, he completed more than 1,300 refractive surgeries. In addition to being the principal of Kugler Vision, Dr. Kugler is also Director of Refractive Surgery for the University of Nebraska Medical Center. A Nebraska native, Dr. Schlichtemeier has dedicated his career to staying abreast of advancements in refractive surgery. He was the first eye surgeon in Nebraska — and one of only 10 across the globe — to perform epikeratophakia and keratomileusis (the precursor to LASIK eye surgery), and was also one of the first surgeons in Nebraska to perform RK (radial keratotomy) in 1983. Dr. Morgan was selected for and fulfilled an American Academy of Optometry fellowship. In 2012, the American Optometric Association published her article on central toxic keratopathy in their publication, Optometry. The laser eye care specialists at Kugler Vision are dedicated to providing their patients with the most advanced technologies and highest quality of surgical care.
The ophthalmologists at Kugler Vision specialize in laser refractive cataract surgery, an advanced technique that involves the use of a laser to treat astigmatism and soften the cataract before it is removed. Following the cataract removal, an advanced intraocular lens implants (IOL) is inserted into the eye to focus the light and reduce the need for glasses. The Omaha cataract surgeons are the only surgeons in the state of Nebraska to use both an OptiMedica Catalys laser and an Alcon LenSx laser, and offer a wide range of artificial lens implants to meet the needs of different patients, including AcrySof ReSTOR and toric lenses, Tecnis multifocal, Tecnis toric, as well as Crystalens and TruLign toric IOLs. Following surgery, most Kugler Vision cataract surgery patients are able to enjoy clear vision at many distances, reducing their dependency on corrective eyewear.

"I am very pleased with the results following my recent cataract surgery performed by Dr. Lance Kugler. I opted for intraocular multi-focal lens replacement. My right eye vision was 20/30 the day following my surgery, I am now able to see great at distances and read without the need of glasses and no more halo's around oncoming headlights. On my left eye we waited two weeks before the next surgery, both procedures were painless I and I am very satisfied with my results. Everyone on staff were very professional and friendly. I would highly recommend Dr. Lance Kugler for your cataract surgery needs." —Rose L.
"I had my second Cataract surgery on Wednesday. I elected to have implants so I would not have to wear glasses. I was a little scared because it is your eyes. My surgery took about 25-30 minutes and I did not feel anything. I felt so good and was very glad I did the surgery. Dr Kugler is compassionate about his work and cares about his patients. I wish I would have had this done earlier." —Patty M.
