William J. Rand, MD, and Robert S. Nagler, MD, are experienced eye surgeons with board certification in ophthalmology. Collectively, they have performed more than 40,000 eye surgeries. Dr. Rand and Dr. Nagler also offer Visian implantable contact lenses (ICLs) for patients who are not eligible for LASIK surgery. These lenses are placed in front of the eyes' natural lenses to provide for clear vision.

The Surgeons of Rand Eye Institute

William J. Rand, MD, received his medical degree from the State University of New York. He completed a residency in microsurgical ophthalmology at the Brooklyn Eye and Ear Hospital and the Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, serving as Chief Resident his final year. Dr. Rand then completed a fellowship at the Institute of Ophthalmology in Houston and the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. He has written a number of journal articles for prestigious medical journals and has presented his research at ophthalmology meetings and conferences. He also provides instruction to ophthalmologists throughout the South Florida area. Dr. Rand is a member of several medical organizations, including the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the American Medical Association.

Robert S. Nagler, MD, received his undergraduate degree with summa cum laude honors and Phi Beta Kappa distinction from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Dr. Nagler completed his medical degree at the New York University School of Medicine in New York City. Following medical school, Dr. Nagler completed an internship in internal medicine at Boston City Hospital. In addition, he served as an Attending Physician in Ophthalmology at Huntington Hospital in New York. Dr. Nagler is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners.
