Dr. Paul Minotty and Dr. Stephen Tate are leading cataract surgeons at New Vision Eye Center, serving Vero Beach, Fla., and all surrounding areas. Along with their staff, Drs. Minotty and Tate are committed to providing world-class cataract treatment and gentle, compassionate patient care.
In addition to cataract surgery, New Vision Eye Center also houses a laser center, offering refractive surgery procedures such as traditional LASIK, all-laser LASIK, advanced surface treatment (AST) and conductive keratoplasty (CK).
New Vision Eye Center was the first practice on the Treasure Coast to offer the most advanced technology available for patients with cataracts: gentle, bladeless, computer-guided cataract removal. Their advanced laser system is designed to deliver the best visual results with unsurpassed precision and accuracy.
If vision problems caused by cataract are interfering with a person's quality of life, cataract eye surgery is the only treatment option. Cataract removal is very common and currently has the highest success rate of any surgical procedure in the United States. During the procedure, the clouded natural lens of the eye is replaced with a new, clear lens that has a prescription power specifically measured for the individual patient. This is called an intraocular lens implant.
Some lenses best correct at distance, some at near, some at both distance and near, and some for astigmatism. For these reasons, no one lens is right for every patient. Dr. Minotty and Dr. Tate counsel each patient on the best approach for their patients' needs and lifestyle.
If you have been considering cataract surgery, one option to explore is dropless cataract surgery. With this procedure, there is no need to use eye drops in the days and weeks following your surgery. Just one more way that the doctors at New Vision Eye Center take care of their patients.Email the Surgeon

"I have worn glasses since I was about 5 years old, so severely nearsighted that I was blind without them. Then I developed glaucoma, and my eyesight got worse. From there I developed cataracts, and I was really frightened that I would lose what little sight I had. Dr. Tate at New Vision Eye Center said that he couldn't guarantee that I would have better vision, but he would do his best. My vision is now 20/25 in my right eye and my left eye is 20/20. This truly is a miracle! I can see clearly now without glasses or contacts. I am overwhelmed with gratitude and still in shock. Dr. Tate and New Vision Eye Center have given me the ability to see with such clarity and focus without any correction - and I am forever grateful." Sharon S. Gunn-Dotson
