Lori D. Moore, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has advanced fellowship training in refractive and cornea surgery. Dr. Moore believes compassionate, attentive patient care is a key component to surgical success, and therefore remains actively involved in every step of a patient's cataracts surgery. Her outstanding care, state-of-the-art equipment and surgical expertise have earned Dr. Moore a reputation for excellence throughout the San Gabriel Valley.

Dr. Moore performs cataract surgery using the "no-needle, no-stitch, no-patch" method with phacoemulsification. This advanced procedure eliminates the need for anesthetic injections by using numbing eye drops. After numbing the eye, Dr. Moore creates a small, self-sealing incision. Using sophisticated ultrasound technology, she then breaks the clouded lens into smaller pieces, which are extracted through the incision. She finishes the procedure by inserting an intraocular lens implant (IOL).

Dr. Moore offers several different IOLs to meet the diverse needs of her patients, including the multifocal AcrySof ReSTOR IOL, which corrects for nearsightedness and farsightedness, as well as the accommodating Crystalens IOL, which improves the eye's ability to change focus between near and distant objects. She also offers the monofocal Toric IOL to correct for myopia and astigmatism. During cataract surgery, Dr. Moore may create limbal relaxing incisions to treat patients with astigmatism.

In addition to cataract surgery, Dr. Moore offers LASIK surgery, glaucoma treatment, conductive keratoplasty and Botox injections.

More About Lori D. Moore, MD

Lori D. Moore, MD, completed an undergraduate degree at Stanford University and a medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco Medical School. She then performed an ophthalmology residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., and a cornea and external disease fellowship at the Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit. Dr. Moore is the founder and president of NuVision Laser. She is a member of several ophthalmologic organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
