G. Brock Magruder, Jr., MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been performing cataract surgery in the Orlando area for more than 20 years. Recognized as one of the top eye surgeons in the country, Dr. Magruder is skilled in the latest cataract surgery techniques incorporating premium intraocular lens implants (IOLs). He has served as an investigator during the latest FDA trials of CustomCornea. In addition, he is a compassionate eye surgeon who initiated an ongoing eye mission program to provide eye care to underprivileged patients in the Dominican Republic and various other underdeveloped countries.
Dr. Magruder specializes in the latest "no-needle, no-stitch, no-patch" refractive cataract surgery, which involves the use of premium IOLs designed to restore each patient's maximum visual acuity. Dr. Magruder begins the procedure by creating a tiny incision in the eye and carefully breaking up the eye's clouded lens through a sophisticated process known as phacoemulsification. Next, he removes the clouded lens and replaces it with a premium multifocal implant to restore near and distance vision, or a monofocal implant to correct either distance or near vision, depending on each patient's needs. Dr. Magruder is also able to correct astigmatism for patients who require such treatment.
In addition to cataract surgery, Dr. Magruder is a gifted laser eye surgeon who has successfully performed more than 20,000 LASIK procedures. He also offers refractive lens exchange, implantation of intraocular contact lenses (ICLs) for patients suffering from extreme nearsightedness, and PRK as an alternative treatment for patients who are not good candidates for LASIK.

"Dear Dr. Magruder Jr. and Team, your work is absolutely amazing! I now have 20/20 vision. Dr. Ross is excited about my progress, and I am amazed each time I open my eyes. Following the surgery, our grass and trees were the brightest, truest green I had seen in years! I was able to look down our hallway into our son's room to see what he was watching on TV instead of asking.
I enjoyed working with each member of your team. The receptionists were friendly and polite, and Tamara was quite knowledgeable and did a great job putting me at ease! You and your surgical team were patient and kind. For these things and more, I say thank you!
Needless to say I have already made several referrals to your facility and wish you continued success! You and your staff are truly a blessed group of individuals!" Joy K. Hughley
"I am so happy! What an incredible feeling to wake up each morning and be able to see what lies before me!
I had worn glasses since I was eight and contacts since after high school - a total of 34 years! What a blessing to be free of the encumbrances. I love being able to go running, sailing and rollerblading without having to worry about something getting in my contacts.
I also wanted to thank you for calling after the surgery. On the way home, I was nervous because my vision was still foggy. I went home and went to sleep as you suggested, still wondering about the outcome. I was so appreciative to hear your voice that night, just checking in on me. The next morning, it was unbelievable that I could drive to my eye appointment with no problem seeing at all. Thank you again. You've given me a new view on life." Susan Schamay
"Dr. Magruder, I want to thank you for your level of integrity during my consultation prior to the surgery. My intention was to have both eyes corrected. The invoice was paid and I was ready to go. Three minutes before the surgery, you convinced me I would be happy with just the left eye corrected. Your concern was the slight level of surgical correct might not warrant a noticeable change. You suggested that I allow you to correct just one eye. Your comment was, "We can always do the right eye later." You were absolutely correct! My vision is terrific with only one eye corrected. Thank you for your generosity, expertise and integrity." Jamie Cielewich
