Kent G. Leavitt, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who received advanced fellowship training in cornea and external disease at the famed Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Leavitt is one of the Northwest’s top ophthalmologists, boasting thousands of successful cataract and LASIK surgeries. A pioneer in the field of refractive surgery, he was one of the first ophthalmologists in the area to perform Intralase LASIK and wavefront-guided laser vision correction surgery.

Dr. Leavitt performs refractive cataract surgery with premium intraocular lens implants (IOLs). Refractive cataract surgery involves the concurrent correction of nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and loss of reading vision to dramatically reduce or eliminate dependence on glasses. He begins the procedure by creating a small incision in the eye and gently extracting the clouded lens. Then, he replaces the lens with an IOL, such as AcrySof ReSTOR, ReZoom or Crystalens. AcrySof ReSTOR and ReZoom are multifocal IOLs that correct for nearsightedness and farsightedness. Crystalens is an accommodating IOL that moves with the eye’s muscles to improve patients’ abilities to change focus between near and distant objects.
In addition to cataract surgery, Dr. Leavitt performs LASIK, LASEK, Epi-LASIK, conductive keratoplasty and Intacts corneal rings to treat keratoconus. As an alternative to LASIK, he offers Visian implantable collamer lenses (ICLs) and Verisyse phakic IOLs, both of which are implanted in front of the natural lens to correct for myopia..
Dr. Leavitt also offers Latisse, a revolutionary topical solution proven to promote the growth of longer, thicker, darker eyelashes to enhance a patient’s appearance. Latisse is the first ever FDA-approved eyelash treatment that keeps the lashes in their growing phase. Latisse can only be obtained by prescription following a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Leavitt.

"I've been very impressed with this office. I have never had to wait for an appointment – they are always on time. I have always felt that they have time for me and I never felt rushed. On surgery day, I appreciated feeling that I was the only person they were dealing with, instead of multiple people at the same time. I had a wonderful experience. I should mention that I do not like medical procedures and I was extremely nervous. Everyone put me at ease and my worries were for nothing." Dynn
