Chris A. Knobbe, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery and general ophthalmology. Dr. Knobbe boasts more than 15 years' experience and an outstanding surgical record that attracts patients from throughout the Southern Oklahoma and North Texas regions. In recognition of his cataract surgery expertise, Dr. Knobbe was invited to join the clinical faculty of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Knobbe is the author of the highly regarded consumer reference book, Refractive Surgery – A Consumer's Complete Guide. In addition, he serves on the editorial advisory board of the All About Vision Web portal – the largest, most respected eye care authority on the Internet.
Dr. Knobbe performs cataract surgery using the latest, most advanced surgical techniques and technologies available. He is proud to offer no-shot, no-stitch, no-patch cataract surgery, which produces excellent vision correction results with minimal downtime and discomfort for the patient. During this procedure, Dr. Knobbe extracts the clouded lens using the phacoemulsification method and then inserts a premium intraocular lens implant (IOL). By replacing the clouded lens with an IOL, Dr. Knobbe helps patients achieve youthful vision while reducing their dependence on glasses.
In addition to advanced forms of cataract surgery, Dr. Knobbe offers a variety of general ophthalmology services, including treatments for macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma. He performs cataract surgery and most surgical procedures at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma in Durant. Laser procedures and minor surgical treatments are performed at his state-of-the-art office, located in the Durant Medical Complex, adjacent to the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma.

Chris A. Knobbe, MD, earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Southern Colorado and a medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver. After completing an internship at Denver Presbyterian and St. Luke's hospitals, Dr. Knobbe completed a three-year ophthalmology residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver that included rotations at University Hospital, Denver General Hospital, Children's Hospital, Veteran's Administration Medical Center and Porter Memorial Hospital. Dr. Knobbe's advanced training and impeccable surgical record have allowed him to achieve memberships with many prominent organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Christian Ophthalmological Society and the American Medical Association.
