Key-Whitman Eye Center
Key-Whitman Eye Center is one of the leading vision correction providers in the greater Dallas area. Founded more than 45 years ago, the center boasts a long record of outstanding vision correction results and excellent patient care. The experienced, board-certified ophthalmologists at Key-Whitman Eye Center have performed numerous successful cataract surgeries, helping thousands of patients eliminate or reduce their dependence on glasses and contact lenses.
Under the leadership of Jeffrey Whitman, MD, the center's surgeons strive to provide exceptional cataract surgery results in the safest, most comfortable manner possible. As an impressive testament to their reputation for excellence, Dr. Whitman has been named "Dallas Best" by D Magazine several years in a row. Currently serving as President of the highly regarded American College of Eye Surgeons, Dr. Whitman is also the recipient of the prestigious American Medical Association Physician's Recognition Award. He confidently leads his team of skilled eye surgeons, delivering comprehensive eye care services with results that meet or exceed the expectations of even the most discerning patients.
Dr. Whitman and his team use the advanced "no-stitch" technique when performing cataract surgery. The procedure involves a small incision in the eye through which the eye's natural lens is extracted and then replaced with a premium intraocular lens implant (IOL). Key-Whitman Eye Center offers several types of IOLs to meet the different needs of their patients, including AcrySof ReSTOR, Tecnis, Crystalens and toric lenses. By using these sophisticated implantable lenses, the skilled eye surgeons of Key-Whitman Eye Center are able to provide patients with better far, intermediate and close-up vision.
The surgeons of Key-Whitman Eye Center are also adept at performing laser eye surgery, including LASIK and PRK. In addition, they offer oculoplastic surgery and Botox injections. Free seminars are held monthly for patients who want to learn more about the benefits of refractive procedures and eye care services offered at Key-Whitman Eye Center.

"I wanted to write to you and your staff to express my appreciation for your skill, professionalism, patience and kindness during my treatment. The improvement in my eyesight is nothing short of a miracle." Al Childs
"You have finished my second eye for cataracts and I want you to know how much I appreciate you and your staff for providing excellent care and compassion during the surgery and post operative care. You obviously; not only have excellent skills as a surgeon, but you have excellent managerial skills in planning, organizing, and control of the company. You are a master of guiding human and physical resources into dynamic organizational groups.
At every level of operation; your people seem to have exceptional interpersonal skills to enable the patients to feel comfortable and relaxed in a medical environment. I was overwhelmed by the courtesy and timely process of the operation, postoperative care and providing transportation to and from your facility. Thank you for caring for your patients." Carl W. Clark
"Thanks to you and all your staff for making my dream come true! I have never been more pleased with the service and respect shown to me." Michael Goldsmith
"I had to write you to thank you for giving me a new lease on life! I am 75 years old, a piano teacher, church pianist for over 60 years and organist for funerals, weddings, etc. Because of cataracts, I felt it was time to retire from all this because of poor vision which made it so difficult to practice, being able to read music so well.
You did my surgery on my right eye July 11. Crystalens seemed the right choice, so you implanted that eye. That was a Wednesday and I played for church worship the following Sunday seeing better than I had in a long time. The other eye was done this week and I have practiced piano every day since. I will play for church again tomorrow, thanking God for a wonderful, dedicated doctor who along with our father has allowed my eyesight to be what it was many years ago. I thank you with all my heart for the happiness I am experiencing being able to already see so much better! I feel the best is yet to come!" Lois Hitt-Gilmer
"I would like to thank you for the best gift that I can imagine. No more eyeglasses or contact lenses. I actually drove myself, the morning after surgery, down Central Expressway to work. Since my surgery, it has been a wonderful daily experience to wake-up and see clearly. As a fellow physician, I am continuously impressed with the state-of-the-art care we are able to give our patients. It has been extremely nice to be on the receiving end as your patient." John Volk
