Dr. Moore begins cataract surgery by making a small, self-sealing incision in the surface of the eye. He uses a technique called phacoemulsification to break up the cloudy, cataract-diseased lens with ultrasound energy; then, the pieces are gently aspirated from the eye. He places an artificial lens implant through the same incision. The type of lens implant used is selected based on each patient's unique vision needs. Dr. Moore likes to use Crystalens and ReSTOR lenses, which improve the patient's ability to see at multiple distances.

Dr. Moore performs cataract surgery at his modern, state-of-the-art surgical facility, using the latest technology. Professional staff members are with patients every step of the way to ensure the experience runs smoothly and efficiently.

Charles Moore, MD, FICS, founded International EyeCare and serves as the center's Medical Director. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University and The University of Tennessee's medical school. Dr. Moore served in the United States Army as a flight surgeon and captain. After his service, he established his private ophthalmology practice and was a core investigator in the early LASIK safety trials. Dr. Moore has trained thousands of ophthalmologists all over the country and the world, and has published numerous papers on topics such as lens implants, ocular surface and refractive surgery. Wavelight, a leading laser manufacturer in Germany, appointed Dr. Moore as its National Medical Advisor and presented him with its Global Ambassador Award.

Dr. Moore joined other Houston medical specialists in 2010 for a trip to Kuwait to visit the Armed Forces Hospital and share knowledge and advances in patient care.
