The doctors at Hester Eye Care use a state-of-the-art technique called "no-stitch, micro-incision" cataract surgery. This outpatient procedure, which involves the insertion of premium intraocular lens implants (IOLs) to replace the clouded lenses, is both quick and painless.

Hester Eye Care offers a variety
of premium IOLs, including ReStor
and ReZoom multifocal IOLs which
allow the patient to see clearly
at multiple distances.

Before starting surgery, topical anesthesia is administered, so patients are completely comfortable throughout the entire procedure. The Southern Arkansas cataract surgeon starts the procedure by making a self-sealing incision in the eye. He uses the incision to access the eye's cataract-diseased crystalline lens encased within. During a technique called "phacoemulsification," Dr. Hester uses ultrasound energy to break up the cataractous lens into small fragments, which are then suctioned from or flushed out of the eye. He then replaces the cataract-diseased lens with an IOL.

Hester Eye Care offers a variety of premium IOLs, including ReStor and ReZoom multifocal IOLs which allow the patient to see clearly at multiple distances. With premium IOLs, patients are often able to forgo their daily reliance on glasses and contact lenses.

In addition to cataract surgery, Hester Eye Care offers individuals in Southern Arkansas LASIK, PRK, glaucoma treatments, dry eye treatment, general optical services, and cosmetic services, including BOTOX muscle relaxant, Juvéderm dermal filler and Latisse eyelash-lengthening treatment.
