Serving patients seeking cataract surgery with Crystalens, AcrySof ReSTOR, ReZoom IOLs in Honolulu and the surrounding area

Dr. Faulkner has helped numerous patients improve their
vision, including many members of the armed forces.

Alan Faulkner, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in refractive and cataract surgery procedures. He joined his father's practice, Faulkner Institute, in 2000 to continue its tradition of pioneering cataract surgery, and has been treating Honolulu patients' eye care needs since then. Dedicated to providing unsurpassed patient care that produces outstanding results, Dr. Faulkner has earned a reputation for excellence throughout Hawaii.

Dr. Faulkner specializes in "no-stitch, no-needle, no-patch" cataract surgery with phacoemulsification. He begins the procedure by applying anesthetic eye drops and creating a tiny, self-sealing incision in the eye. Next, he breaks apart the clouded lens (cataract) into smaller pieces using a sophisticated ultrasound technology. Dr. Faulkner then extracts the fragments and replaces the lens with an intraocular lens implant (IOL). He is experienced in and offers all of the premium IOLs, including Crystalens, AcrySof ReSTOR, Technis Multifocal and ReZoom. These premium lenses provide enhanced near and distance vision, decreasing or eliminating the need for eye glasses.

Dr. Faulkner and his outstanding team strive to create a comforting environment for their patients. Dr. Faulkner performs all procedures at his state-of-the-art surgical suite that is fully equipped with some of the most sophisticated ophthalmology technologies available.
