Dennis Matzkin, MD, and George Waring, MD, are board-certified ophthalmologists and cataract surgeons at Eye 1st Vision and Laser. During their many years of practice, they have performed thousands of cataract and refractive surgeries and improved the sight of patients who suffer with blurred vision.
Dr. Matzkin and Dr. Waring frequently perform outpatient cataract surgery with premium intraocular lenses (IOLs). To begin, the surgeon makes a small incision in the eye to remove the cataract-diseased lens. Pulses of liquid or ultrasound energy are used to break up the lens into tiny pieces, and the pieces are extracted through the incision. Then, the lens is replaced with a premium IOL — a lens implant designed to improve vision after cataract surgery. The practice offers several types of advanced IOLs, including multifocal implants to correct distance and near vision and Toric implants to correct astigmatism.
Cataract surgery is not painful, takes 10-20 minutes and is performed under light sedation. Patients should notice a rapid recovery of vision within a few days of surgery. Many are able to see clearly without the help of glasses or contact lenses.
Eye 1st Vision and Laser offers comprehensive vision correction options, including LASIK, PRK, intraocular contact lenses (ICL) and lens replacement surgery.
To schedule a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Matzkin or Dr. Waring and learn more about your vision correction options, please contact Eye 1st Vision and Laser at (866) 937-0227.
