William Ellis, MD, FACS, is a board-certified ophthalmologist and experienced cataract surgeon in the San Jose / Silicon Valley area. A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Ellis has been a leading authority in the field of ophthalmology for 33 years. He has lectured extensively and authored numerous papers and several textbooks that can be found in medical libraries around the world. Some of his other impressive credentials include being asked to chair a panel on the surgical correction of astigmatism at the 26th International Congress of Ophthalmology and being appointed to the editorial board of the Russian journal Ophthalmology Surgery.
Dr. Ellis commonly treats cataracts at his six office locations throughout Northern California. During cataract surgery, he makes a small incision in the corner of the eye. Through the incision, he directs pulses of liquid or ultrasound energy at the cloudy lens of the eye to break it up. Dr. Ellis removes the pieces of the lens and replaces it with an intraocular lens implant (IOL). There are many types of IOLs on the market today, each designed with different features to improve vision at one or more distances. Dr. Ellis and his team will help patients select the IOL that is best for their specific needs.
Dr. Ellis is also a leading LASIK surgeon, with more than 50,000 laser eye surgery procedures under his belt. He uses the latest lasers and most advanced technology for optimal outcomes.

"My vision is great. I mean, my left eye is 20/20. My right eye is 20/30. It is wonderful to see the freeway signs.
It didn't hurt at all. It was quick. It was easy.
The thing I like the best is you get up in the middle of the night, or you wake up first thing in the morning and you look at the clock and you can see it. You don't have to get up and put on the glasses before you can even see the clock." Sharon

"I researched many doctors. I went to many seminars and I interviewed many doctors and when I discovered Dr. Ellis, I discovered many things about him. Dr. Ellis has been at the forefront of this technology. He has done more surgeries that any of the other doctors I had interviewed and I figured that if I'm going to have this done and if it is something so important as my eyesight, I'm going to go with the best I can find.
It was beyond my expectations and I'm seeing better than I did when I was wearing my glasses. I'm able to see things I couldn't see before." Fred

"I was impressed with Dr. Ellis because of the way that he was involved with pioneering a lot of these processes for this type of eye corrective surgery, and co-writing a text book. He is known worldwide." Cheryl

"I did not miss a single day of work. After I had my second eye done I went to work the next day and I was able to clean teeth and see what I needed to see to work." Loree
