Dr. Pascucci performs "no-stitch, micro-incision" cataract removal surgery with advanced intraocular lens implants (IOLs). The cataract surgery Bonita Springs provider starts the procedure by creating a miniscule, self-sealing incision in the eye capsule that holds the cataractous (cloudy) crystalline lens. Then, in a technique called "phacoemulsification," Dr. Pascucci uses ultrasound energy to break up and irrigate the eye's natural lens for simple removal. Once he has removed the cataract-diseased lens, he inserts a premium IOL to help the patient see clearly after surgery.

Dr. Pascucci specializes in advanced IOL options for cataract surgery, helping patients enjoy a full range of vision — often without glasses. The Tecnis Multifocal, ReSTOR and Crystalens lens implants simultaneously correct for distance and near vision. And, toric lens implant options are available for patients with astigmatism. Respected for both his skill as a surgeon and his patient care philosophy, Dr. Pascucci performs thorough pre-operative assessments for his patients, taking time to help them choose the most appropriate lens implant option.

The eye surgeon performs cataract surgery under topical anesthesia, and patients typically find that the procedure is virtually painless. Dr. Pascucci's patients achieve clearer vision at multiple distances, and in many cases significantly decrease their daily dependence on prescription eyewear.

In addition to cataract surgery, Eye Consultants of Bonita Springs also offers LASIK, advanced surface ablation (ASA) and other vision correction procedures.
