Dello Russo Laser Vision
The Dello Russo Laser Vision team has over 40 years' experience helping patients regain clear vision after cataracts. Cataract surgery is one of the most commonly performed procedures today, and patients throughout Northern New Jersey and New York choose Drs. Joseph and Jeffrey Dello Russo for their expertise and experience. Dr. Joseph Dello Russo is a pioneer in cataract surgery and was one of the first "laser" cataract surgeons.
Dello Russo Laser Vision works closely with the New Jersey Eye Center to provide state-of-the-art cataract removal. Cataract surgery is typically a short procedure performed on an outpatient basis. During the surgery, the cataract-diseased lens is removed and replaced with an artificial lens. The doctors at Dello Russo Laser Vision offer several types of advanced lenses to satisfy a variety of visual needs.
In addition to cataract surgery, the doctors at Dello Russo Laser Vision offer several popular laser vision correction options, including traditional LASIK and "no blade" LASIK. They have performed over 160,000 LASIK procedures.
Prior to surgery, the eyes are numbed with eyedrops for complete patient comfort. To begin, the cataract surgeon makes a tiny incision in the eye and fragments the lens using ultrasonic energy. Then, the pieces of the lens are carefully removed with gentle suction. An artificial lens is inserted through the same incision and properly positioned. Finally, the surgeon closes the incision with a small stitch (or it may heal on its own). Patients can opt for a standard lens that restores focus at a fixed distance, or a premium lens that restores focus at multiple distances or corrects presbyopia (the age-related loss of reading vision). After the procedure is finished, the patient is released to go home. Recovery typically lasts a few days and visual improvement occurs rapidly.Email the Surgeon
"Each member of the staff answered my numerous questions in a thorough and forthright manner. I was most impressed hearing that a coworker and my husband were not candidates for the surgery. It's good to know that billing is not the bottom line at NJ Eye Center. Stephanie's pre-surgery call to me was most reassuring after I voiced my concerns to Steve. She was correct in stating I would thank her for encouraging me to move forward with the surgery. It is so nice to see the leaves on the trees, drive and watch TV for the first time since I was 12 years old. Perhaps the years ahead will see Dr. Dello Russo develop the technology that will allow me to also read without glasses. Along with each of my many phone calls, the care I received was wonderful and the entire procedures truly painless. I was at my desk the following morning with perfect distance vision. I then e-mailed my coworkers, encouraging them to follow suit. Again I must say "thank you" and extend my personal best wishes for continued success at you new facility." — Mary M.
"I AM A HAPPY MAN! The "high hopes" I had for the successful retreating of my right eye came true! Thank you. For the first time in 52 years I can experience near 20/20 vision without glasses. There was no discomfort after the procedure last Wednesday and I was promptly re seen on Thursday. The staff I had contact with, Erica, Stephanie, Joyce, Michael, Dr. Kellog and your nurses were very informative and courteous." — anonymous
