Dan Tran, MD, and David Yomtoob, MD, MBA, are board-certified ophthalmologists and eye surgeons at Coastal Vision Medical Group in Orange County, California. Their impressive credentials make them a great choice for patients seeking vision correction in Southern California. Coastal Vision Medical Group offers the latest vision correction procedures, including cataract surgery with the placement of intraocular lens implants (IOLs) to restore clear, crisp vision. Patients of Coastal Vision Medical Group benefit from the use of premium technology for enhanced safety and comfort, and enjoy the close, personal attention they receive from the entire staff.
During cataract surgery, Drs. Tran and Yomtoob first make a small, self-sealing incision in the eye. Using a technique called phacoemulsification, the surgeons direct a tiny instrument emitting ultrasonic energy at the cloudy lens to break it into pieces. The pieces are aspirated from the eye, and the surgeon places an intraocular lens (IOL) through the same incision. Several IOLs are available, including Toric, Crystalens and ReSTOR lenses. The IOL that is used will depend on the particular patient and his or her needs and lifestyle preferences. Each IOL has its own set of advantages, and Drs. Tran and Yomtoob take special care to recommend the best fit.
Patients of Coastal Vision Medical Group typically find cataract surgery to be a smooth and complication-free procedure. The removal of cataracts and the placement of artificial lenses allow the patient to reduce his or her dependence on eyeglasses and perform daily activities with more ease.

In addition to cataract surgery, Coastal Vision Medical Group offers LASIK, PRK, clear lens exchange, refractive lens exchange and medical and surgical care for common visual conditions and disorders like dry eye, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.
